Day 13 ~ 14 Chamonix, France

 3 Trains, 51/2 hours we were both a little eager to set foot on snowy ground.

It was cheap n nasty but all we needed were beds. You could hear everyone & everything. The stairs & doors creaked like something from a Wes Craven movie. The meals were horrible & I never even got what I ordered. Even though the guy told a larger group he was 'the man' and could remember everyone's order. Funny that he had to return and ask them again!

 Guessing this is where all the water travels once the ice melts!

 Standing at the (almost) top of ( L' Aiguille du Midi ) Mont Blanc. We got there by cable car which was quite a scary trip.

A few facts about Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps:

The mountain was the scene of two fatal air crashes of Air India Flight 245 in 1950 and Air India Flight 101 in 1966. Both planes were approaching Geneva airport and the pilots miscalculated their descent; 48 and 117 people, respectively, died.

On 29 May 2009, Olympic snowboarding gold medalist Karine Ruby and a companion were killed; she and some members of her group fell into a deep crack in the glacier on the way down the mountain. Ruby was training to become a mountain guide

 Sorry but it was fucking cold, no gloves and only a hood that kept slipping off.
